Aroha 4 Growing together!

As a school we have been busy fundraising for good causes. We would like to say a huge thank you to our whanau for supporting us! We love and appreciate you!

Good work to our award winners! Keep up the awesome work!

In Aroha 4 we have been working on our vision 'We grow our people'. Here we have done some inspired flowers. At the centre of the flower is us together to show that together we need to help each other grow.

We are exploring Heroes in class. When we think of heroes we thought of Super heroes. We are learning that they aren't the only type of heroes in our very own Manurewa Community we have heroes!! Heroes in our community are Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Dentist, Police officers, Fire fighters, Ambulance officers just to name a few.

Check out our masks that we could create along side writing about our Community hero.

 Have a great week Whanau and Caregivers!

Race track creations!

A highlight for us has been making race tracks. Our challenge was to create the longest race track. We got given a cardboard box, scissors and cellotape the rest was up to us. It was our creation!!

We had so much creating these race tracks it allowed us to use our;
 Creative thinking- how are we going to make the longest track?
Participate- work with others to create and put together.
Relate to others- Listen to others opinions, share our ideas

Sterling, Aeshal, Izabella

Vaioleti, Adam, Te Awhi
Sierah- Jaye, Adonai, Zyrius

As you can see from our pictures some of us had different ideas others had similar. After the hard work creating these race tracks we tested cars on them "brmmmm brrmmmmmm"
 We hope you enjoyed our Race track blog. Feel free to leave us a message, we love hearing from our whanau.

Enjoy your week!

Playdough making!

What is ingredients?
Sterling "cook something"
Aeshal "cooking sweets"
Adonai " things that go into a birthday cake"

Aroha 4's definition of ingredients; Ingredients are things we put altogether to make something, like food.

To make playdough we used the following ingredients
- Flour
- Cream of Tartar
- Salt
- Water
- Food colouring
- Vegetable Oil

We all got the chance to participate measuring, combining and mixing the ingredients.

We made shapes using the playdough and we had two techniques that we could use;
1. Flattening
2. Rolling

Check us out!
