This afternoon we went out to the courts and had a challenge. We were given 3 hula hoops and had to get from one side to the other but only using the hula hoops. It was fun and exciting. We did this activity because we are revisiting our PRIDE values and working as a team, being a good team player.

Opening ceremony of Māori Language Week
This is our Duffy Box inspired by what is currently happening with the Ihumatao land right here in Tāmaki Makaurau
Congratulations to our cross country winners in the top 4. Also to John and Kaiyah award winners within the class.
Hangi preparation- Students enjoyed doing their part for the whole school hangi. Most of us tasted the hangi and it was delicious especially the stuffing part which the bread was used for.

Malo e leilei
Week 7 was full on with Tongan Language Week! It started with an awesome flag raising ceremony and ended with a beautiful assembly.
In Aroha 4 we looked at Valarie Adams for our Tongan Champion it was awesome to learn about her and during writing we wrote some facts about her!
The Assembly was awesome and we want to say a huge thank you to all the Rowandale student performers you all did an awesome job and looked amazing up on stage representing Tonga!

Garden Time
We went into the school garden and have done some weeding. This is so we can plant some seeds of our own and hopefully watch them grow. We have been looking into planting a seed and what the steps are in order for it grow. Check out our photos

2019 Cross Country
Hi Whanau,
Here are some photos from our cross country in Week 5! We had so much fun. A special shout out to Zyrius who came 1st in the Year 1 boys race and in the Year 1 girls race Vaioleti 2nd, Kaiyah 6th and Samaritan 10th! Woohoo celebrations for Aroha 4! You all did a fantastic job running!
